Extension Leadership Conference (ELC)
Public Issues Leadership Development (PILD)
The aim of ELC is to build leadership capacity, and provide professional development and networking opportunities for state officers and members of the Extension Associations:
· ANREP
· ESP
· NACAA
· NACDEP
· NAE4-HYDP
· NAEPSDP, and
· NEAFCS.
The purpose of the PILD Conference is to:
· provide professional development to broaden understanding of public policy issues impacting Extension and Extension clientele,
· enhance advocacy and public policy education skills,
· share how changing political environments affect support for Extension,
· build support for Extension through consistent and targeted communication with decision makers,
· strengthen partnerships and explore new linkages with local, state, and federal agencies, and
· encourage visits with federal legislators and decision makers.

The 2025 ELC will be at The DeSoto Hotel Savannah, 15 E. Liberty, Savannah, GA 31401.
Special rates are available – starting at $199 – in the 2025 Extension Leadership Conference room block now. Space in the room block is available to registered attendees only.
Register for the conference and book your room early – the ELC special rate will only be available through Sunday, January 17, 2025. After that, prevailing rates and availability will apply.

Reservation details:
• Rates are exclusive of taxes and fees
• A valid conference registration is needed to reserve a room at the attendee rate in the conference block
• Group rate available three days pre and three days post event, based on hotel’s availability.
Please note the closest airport to the hotel is the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport (SAV).
The DeSoto only offers valet parking; no self-parking options are available. The cost of valet parking is $45 per night. Garage clearance is for vehicles 6'2″ or under including cases or racks.
Please be vigilant if dealing with any companies or services other than JCEP, Capitol Hill Management Services or The DeSoto Hotel that imply or claim an affiliation with the JCEP Extension Leadership Conference. Reservations made through any other agency will be at your own risk. If you are contacted by a housing company attempting to sell hotel rooms, please notify Show Management at jcepoffice@jcep.org .

Public Issues Leadership Development Conference (PILD)

Request for Proposals Now Open
The PILD conference planning committee is seeking proposals for the 2025 PILD Conference, to be held April 7 and 8, 2025, in Arlington, VA (Washington DC Metro area). RFP details and a link to input your proposal may be found in this document.
The PILD Planning Committee is seeking abstracts from Extension professionals who have demonstrated programming impacts to address critical public issues at local, state, regional, or national levels. This year’s conference theme is YEAR-ROUND IMPACT.
Two types of proposals are being sought:
Posters
10-minute Ignite Talks
All proposals must be received by 11:59 p.m. (PST), December 9, 2024.
All proposals will be peer-reviewed, therefore acceptance would be appropriate for listing on scholarly vitae.
If selected, presenters will be expected to attend the PILD conference and pay their registration fee and travel costs.
